BEST KEPT VILLAGE COMPETITION 2022

20th of June, 2022

We are now in the first judging period of the competition.  We have already seen one set of judges around the village and they will visit three more times until 17th July 2022.

We will be marked down if the judges see weeds in front of houses and in kerbs, litter or graffiti.

Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard in the past few weeks. Some areas of the village are looking good but there is room for a lot of improvement in others.

Please will keep the front of your house where it meets the pavement and the kerb area in front of your house free of weeds.  If everyone does this, the village will look so much better.  If you have time, please weed a larger area or if you see an area that can be tidied up, please do it!

When you are walking around the village, please pick up litter as you go – we have plenty of bins in Sabden!

We have been hugely helped by our young residents this year who are all showing us the way in how we should look after our village.  St. Mary’s school pupils have designed posters which are displayed around the village, the Brownies and Rainbows cleaned the play equipment and did a litter pick and our very youngest residents in Branching Out are also doing regular litter picks.

Everyone came together for the Jubilee weekend and showed what huge community spirit we have in Sabden.  Please let’s carry this on and work together to keep our beautiful village looking at it’s very best all through the summer.

After such a successful Jubilee weekend, it would be amazing to win the Best Kept Village Competition this year.  Together we can do it.
