Sabden Parish Council Fly Tipping

Sabden Parish Council  is extremely disappointed to have to report that there have been several large bin bags of dog waste that have been left at the side of the road adjacent to the waste bins near Heyhouses at the top of Wesley Street. This is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable, it will now be the responsibility of SPC to dispose of these.

The village lengths man checked the area after the refuse collection had taken place last week and the area was clean, so this fly tipping has happened some time soon after that collection took place.

One of the bin bags has rolled into the stream that runs into Sabden Brook which is highly likely to be polluting the water which our dogs and livestock drink from, not to mention the fish and wildlife that we are so lucky to have in habitation.

We are aware that individual dog waste bags are being left on the floor around the bins and this must stop too as it is unhygienic, and the refuse collectors will not pick them up. Please take the bags to another bin or if you are close to home you can put them in your own purple domestic waste bins.

Please can we all be mindful of keeping our village clean, healthy and tidy and be vigilant so that we can prevent any fly tipping.

If you do see fly tipping in the act, it is an illegal activity so please report it to the police. Otherwise, you can contact Ribble Valley Council to report fly tipping that has happened, it is always helpful to provide photographs, please also inform SPC by emailing [email protected].
